Lasithi, Zeus Cave, Olive Mill Farm & Knossos Combo Tour

About This Experience
This full-day loop pairs Knossos with the Lasithi Plateau, the high inland basin that most visitors to Crete never reach. It is the best-reviewed way to see the palace and still get a day of the island's mountain interior, and at roughly eleven hours door to door it is a genuinely full day rather than a quick circuit.
The route starts with morning hotel pickup and climbs to the Vidiani Monastery, a working Orthodox nunnery at the foot of Mount Louloudaki, for a short stop. From there it is a short drive to Psychro Cave — the Cave of Zeus — where an illuminated descent past stalactite chambers takes about an hour and forty minutes and delivers the myth of the god's birthplace on its own terms. Lasinthos Eco Park follows, then the village of Krasi with its enormous ancient plane tree, and an olive mill farm where an optional traditional lunch is served.
Knossos closes the day. Be clear on the money before you book: transport, driver, guide and liability insurance are included, but the entrance fees are not — €15 for the Cave of Zeus and €20 for Knossos — and the olive-mill lunch is a paid extra. Budget roughly €35 per person in site fees on top of the tour price.

What Travelers Say

Wow! Just back from our day and what an amazing day it was. Packed day but lots of rest time between stops. Soula is a fountain of knowledge and really made the experience even better. Unreal value for money for the distance traveled and places seen. Could not recommend enough. A mist do in Crete!

My trip was organised so well, despite being jam packed with activities I felt very relaxed! We had plenty of time everywhere. My tour guide was so informative and funny! I just loved her, she really made the experience with her personality. I loved all the stops and they felt worth while. My friend also had a great time.

Great tour could have done with just a little bit longer at Zeus cave and Knossos palace tour guide very knowledgeable in all a great trip

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the entrance fees included?
No. The Cave of Zeus (€15) and the Palace of Knossos (€20) are both paid on the day, and lunch at the olive mill farm is optional and charged separately. Bring around €35 per person in cash for the two site fees.
How long is the day?
Between 10.5 and 11 hours from pickup to drop-off, including driving time between the plateau and Heraklion. Drive time from the last pickup point to the first stop alone is around 50 minutes.
What is the Cave of Zeus like?
Psychro Cave is a lit cavern reached by a descending path, with large stalactite and stalagmite chambers. The stop lasts about an hour and forty minutes including the walk down and back up, and the footing is uneven and can be damp.
Is there a guided tour inside Knossos?
A guide accompanies the group for the day. If a full in-depth guided walk of the palace is your priority rather than the wider Lasithi circuit, a dedicated Knossos tour will give you more time inside the site.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes — pickup and drop-off are included, and the vehicle is an air-conditioned coach. Your exact pickup point and time are confirmed when you book.
